My Imaginary Life 02
Jo and Shah are relaxing on the couch after a couple of hours of unpacking.
Shah: Hey, thanks for helping me unpack.
Jo: It’s okay, I didn’t have anything else to do actually. I was happy to help.
Shah: I’m glad.
Shah looks at Jo for a while, making her self-conscious and somewhat uncomfortable.
Jo: What is it?
Shah: You look hot.
Jo immediately goes red.
Jo: Wha?.. Um.. Thanks, I guess.
Shah smiles to himself, amused. Jo embarrassedly tucks a wayward lock of hair behind her ear but it just fall back across her face.
Shah: Would you like a drink?
Jo: I barely know you!
Shah: Excuse me?
Jo: It’s just too early in the day and besides, we just met.
Shah: What? Look, I’m not trying to come on to you, get you drunk and have my way. You look rather warm so I’m asking if you’re thirsty and offering you something to drink like some iced water or something. For helping me unpack. And since you’re my first guest, I thought I should be a decent host.
Jo: Oh.. I thought… uh.. I mean.. nevermind.
Shah: Hmm. I think I like the way you think.

Does he have drinks if he’s just moved in? Wouldn’t his fridge be empty? I don’t know… Maybe it would be more appropriate if he asked her “Shall we go out for a drink?”
