no money no study

I’ve been doing a little research and have come across this: Bachelor of Multimedia Studies from Central Queensland University, Australia. It’s a distance learning program provided by the Hartford Institute of Management(HIM) here in Singapore and it seems the closest thing to a multimedia degree available locally. One good thing is that as a graduate of the Diploma in Multimedia Software Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic, I can get straight into the Final Year of the programme. It sounds promising actually. And if I do well, there’s a Master of Multimedia from The University of Newcastle, Australia also provided by HIM.

Yes, as you can sort of tell, I guess I’ve decided to just keep going with this multimedia thing. Many of you have known me when I was unsure of whether to continue with this multimedia/computer/I.T. stuff or to study something totally new and different altogether. I was even considering taking Law from SIC. Anyway, the only problem I have now is trying to save up the money for the degree course. It says something in the region of S$10k. Ouch. Time to do some serious saving I guess.

I guess I should put away 50% of my pay for savings every month. It could work. I’ve already done all my spending for my computer upgrade and stuff. And come end this year, I’ll be getting my bonus and some 7 months worth of handphone bill reimbursements from my company. So that should start me off quite well. Actually, I have about $5k worth of tuition loans to pay off so I guess I’ll do that first, like pay $1000 a month til it’s gone. Hmmm…
