End of an era. farewell daud.

just thought i’d update you guys.

i’m alive. i’m healthy. nothing exciting has happened in the last 2 months. still working and it’s just the same old stuff at work so nothing to update on that front. actually i’m pretty sure a few things have happened which are worth mentioning in a blog but i can’t remember a single one of them.

ok, last weekend was the national day weekend. and i met up with the old gang and watched Fahrenheit 9/11. Which was a pretty good documovie. And I have nothing further to say about it. It’s an eye-opener, that’s for sure. But i’m kinda tired right now to discuss the content of the movie here. All i can say is dubya is either really smart or really stupid.

what else…let’s see. i didn’t catch the national day parade. or any fireworks. been sitting on my ass playing shattered galaxy whenever i’m at home. am getting quite fat and would really like to stop saying i need to exercise and just do it. maybe buying some nike shoes would help with that.

bank balance is increasing steadily which is a good thing and i’m sorta proud of myself for not blowing all my money on one gadget or another. I almost did on that Panasonic DVcam but managed to cancel my order in time. been sort of prioritizing what i need to buy and what i don’t… and i guess at the top right now would be a PDA. would be useful for work. Any PC upgrades now are quite unneccessary i feel since my computer IS working perfectly fine. Hey, it can play Doom3 alright, so no upgrades for a while.

But i think i’m set on the Sony Clie PEG-TJ37. It costs about S$500 which i think is worth it i guess instead of my inital plan of buying a new phone, the Nokia 6230 for about the same price. My current phone works fine, so no need to switch phones yet. As you can tell, i’m sorta trying follow that saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” or upgrade it or whatever.

I’m also thinking of switching ISPs. from my pacnet unlimited 512Kbps ADSL to starhub cable maxonline 3000Kbps. There’s an awesome offer going on til the end of the month. Starhub’s giving away a free cable modem, wireless router, usb wireless receiver and 15% off the subscription fee for 2 years. And by that time, i’m sure subscription fees in general will have fallen.
Zhaki has noted this in his blog and well, one major event that has happened over the past 2 months is that Frankel Daud Seafood Restaurant is no more. the new owners have renovated the place and flooded the place with light. huge fluorescent lights EVERYWHERE. it’s almost blinding. As such, we’re now probably gonna be hanging out at Mak’s Place from now on which is just a ways down the road from the place formerly known as daud. It will be sorely missed. Memories will be treasured.

I think that’s about enough for now. I will try my best to update this blog on a weekly if not daily basis.

Thanks for reading. (those of you who actually haven’t given up checking my blog for updates. Come to think of it, this blog could use a revamp. damn, that just reminded me of UsDudes.com. Crap. Apologies to the UsDudes for the delay on that.)
