Upgrading my skills and job woes again.
Ok. The whole job thing kinda got screwed up. So anyway, I’ll just tell you guys what has happened so far in this little escapade of mine.
So anyway, I got myself a set of employment pass application forms and filled them up. On Friday, gave it to them to fill out their part of it. I was actually looking forward to this coz then i’ll get to see what they put in the ‘Job Title’ space. But alas, they said they’ll send it in for me after they get all the details from the MOM - that’s the Ministry Of Manpower - about employment pass matters.
So the weekend passed by without event. Well, except that i started working on FlashMX with the help of a copy of Macromedia Flash MX: Training From The Source. Finally i’m beginning to know how to use this program which has been in my computer since like… forever. There was no Daud this week either, which was sad. But hopefully the gang will be meeting up for a movie or something one of these days.
So anyway, today arrived at the company again and talked to them and they called up MOM on the spot and talked to somebody and found out that there’s almost no way that I’ll be able to work there. You see according to this, I am only eligible for a Q2 employment pass and one thing that is very important is a letter from the company stating how my education and skills are useful to the company. Now, my education and skills have absolutely NOTHING to do with shipping and trading, so there goes this job.
Although I AM somewhat relieved, since I have no intention of working in a shipping and trading company no matter allowed to or not. So now I have to look for an I.T. job and nothing else as the MOM won’t issue me an employment pass otherwise. The search continues then.
I also bought a copy of Macromedia Flash MX ActionScripting: Advanced Training from the Source. Hopefully the next website I design will be a flash one. ![]()
