Finally, a job interview…

Ah.. It’s after mindnight… so to avoid confusion, I shall refer to the past day as yesterday. So Yesterday, I was having dinner with Nic, Shan and Jeremy when I got a call from my mum. Apparently my dad wants me to know that I’m supposed to go to see one of his friends about a job. The thing is I don’t know what kind of job and I hate going for interviews or anything without knowing what exactly it is. Also, why couldn’t he have called me directly and told me instead of asking my mum to do it.

Anyway, his friend’s office is at the same building AND the same floor as my dad’s office. Which I’m not really looking forward to. True, I may get to spend more time with my dad whom I already have a rather weak relationship with. Maybe we’ll bond during all those lunches or something. Who knows.

So I came home from dinner and talked to my dad about this job thing. Ok, I’m grateful and all that I actually have a job. And also have the possibility of becoming a Singapore Permanent Resident. And when that happens, I’ll be very much less stressed up than I am now. This is because I can then apply to hundreds of other jobs that require “Singaporeans and PRs Only” and hopefully get a better job. (Apparently I may not have to serve NS because of some 1st generation/2nd generation PR crap, which is a good thing.)

As I was saying, I was talking to my dad about this job asking what it was and stuff. And he began a sufficiently long speech about it, but all I heard was the word ‘Inventory’. DAMNIT! I’m going to be an inventory keeper on some computer. Ok, maybe I’m jumping the gun here without knowing all the details but it does already sound quite bad. I’ll keep you all posted on what happens tomorow.

Oh, and I HATE offices. As in those corporate type offices in the middle of the CBD. I’d much rather work in those small companies who have their offices in those shophouse style places. You know, those revamped ones. Or out of a shopping centre.
