Schumacher has got nothing on me. Michael, that is.
WOW! Cool man!! first thing my driving instructor asked is if i brought my passport, which i did.. and we went up to malaysia and zoomed across the north-south highway at like 140kmph!! Ok, and back to reality…
Aaahhhh… ok… driving was… um… not too bad… my right foot is a bit heavy on the brakes and accelerator so you can imagine how the car would move… hehe… but i managed to sort of get a hold of it… The car stalled only once. *phew*
First, he drove to Kembangan. Then I got into the drivers seat and we went through all the basics… he even popped the hood and explained a couple of things about the engine and stuff. So then i learnt how to set off. In absolute detail, here goes:
start engine -> press clutch -> shift to 1st gear -> release handbrake -> singal right -> gently press on accelerator -> release clutch slowly -> move off!! wahaha..
the problem is i’m still so aware of all of that, well, it was my first lesson afterall. The controling of the car has to become second nature i guess. because i really wasn’t looking at the surrounding traffic at all!! too busy concentrating on shifting gears.. hmm…
Then after a while just roaming the empty roads of Kembangan estate, he suddenly told me to turn out onto the main road… and all of a sudden i was in the thick of things… down changi road through to geylang road…whoa.. managed to keep my head on luckily… shifting through all the way to 3rd gear and to an incredible speed of 40kmph. WHOA!… Surprisingly, no one horned at me. heh.
Anyway, that’s all for today.. next lesson on Friday at 4pm. a little reminder for myself.. heh..
